School is now in session. What this means is lots of awkward teenage moments, from first love to developing friend groups to embarrassing in-front-of-the-whole-class presentations.

Let’s face it, we’ve all been there; and, for the most part, we have fond memories of those days. We had disposable income and fewer worries. We had raging hormones and time to spend in leisure. What we thought were such tough times now serve us as reminders of our youth. Perhaps our strong nostalgia for those good-ol'-days as a teen is why this talent show skit has resonated so well with so many people.

From Apollo High School, seven high school students wordlessly capture the humor and fun of being a teenager.

The skit begins with five teenagers sitting in a movie theater, anxiously awaiting the viewing of an all-time-favorite, "The Lion King." Of course, these five sit in the middle of the row to get the best seats, leaving two seats left on each side of the aisle. Unfortunately, a public-display-of-affection-type couple traipses in to sit with their friends.

Yet, with individual seats available on opposite sides of the row, they are forced to sit apart. But do not think a thing as small as this can prevent love from being shown. Our gallant young man in the skit decides to display affection in the most unconventional way.

He decides to pass his affection along, through his friends, telephone-game-style.

What transpires is a hilarious examination of friendship and non-verbal language. Our young lover first transfers a wave to his lovely girlfriend, confusing several of the movie-goers as the message gets passed along. However, his communication with his far-away love-interest doesn’t stop there. He persists with some classic movie theater moves and escalates all the way to a touching kiss.

These five friends do not disappoint. How could they allow their physical mass to get in the way of true love? How could they not pass along love from one friend to another? This skit, in all its seeming simplicity, hilariously captures the innocence of young love and young friendship, all without the use of a single audible word.

In fact, if this skit didn’t earn first place, we all would be shocked!
