Every summer, fishing charters across the state of Florida become loaded with bookings and reservations. People from around the world, though mainly from the United States, seek help from professional deep-sea fisherman to land monster catches of their own.

Bluefin tuna, swordfish, kingfish, and sailfish worthy of being made into trophies are reeled in by these travelers under the guidance of fishing charter captains and expert fishermen. Last July, Florida native Jordan Smith had his eye on these trophy fish for his clients when something else caught his eye.

You won't believe what he found - and especially not what he did after spotting it!

Last summer, the handsome Jordan Smith, a deep-sea fishing boat captain and charter guide at Destin, Florida's Let's Fish Destin Charter, was taking tourists fishing miles off the coast of Destin Beach seven days of the week. He routinely helped clients catch the types of fish that they wanted to reel in.

Whether it was tuna, mackerel, or swordfish, Jordan Smith made quick work of the Florida ocean's population of trophy fish and helped his clients reel them onboard.

When it comes to professional fishermen, they always have their eyes on the water. After years of fishing alongside fellow trophy fishing experts, they learn to spot tiny details that lead them directly to the ocean's largest, most unruly fish.

Last July, Jordan was out on a fishing trip with paying clients. On most of these trips, he jets by Destin's Marler Bridge, a popular tourist checkpoint.

Some bad apples have thrown litter off the bridge, an unfortunate sight that Smith has grown accustomed to.

On that trip, he spotted something that non-fishermen certainly wouldn't have seen. He saw something shit the water, then reeled his boat around once he saw what it was.

It was a full-grown cat!

The kind-hearted Jordan got out a net and managed to bring the cat onboard. He adopted the feline after taking it to the vet.And so Jordan said, Miracle was its name.

The Internet found out about Jordan Smith's good deed and eventual adoption of the cat after he posted a picture with the soaking-wet cat along with an explanation of what happened as its caption on Facebook. To date, it's accumulated upwards of 11,000 shares.

Jordan wasn't planning on taking home a cat that day, but that's what he ended up doing. What would you do if you were in that situation? Let us know - and feel free to pass this along to your friends and family!
