Blind Man Can See Wife's Face For First Time Thanks To Technology

As humans, we tend to take a lot of things for granted.
Our ability to see is certainly one of those things that we tend to simply enjoy without actually appreciating on a daily basis. One man named Gene Purdie hasn’t had the same experience.
Affected by “Stargardt’s Disease”, Gene is legally blind and has spent his life only being able to see the outlines of objects. He’s never been able to experience the joy of looking into his wife’s beautiful face or enjoy the cute expressions that his tiny son makes.

While Gene is certainly glad for all the good that he does have in his life and makes the most of life by becoming involved in many hobbies and activities, he has known that he was missing out in many ways. His son was growing up without Gene even being able to see him, and he had never even known what his wife looked like.
But then everything changed. Gene was invited onto the Rachel Ray show where he could try out a pair of new glasses that inventors are just now getting into the experimental phase. With Gene’s passion for cooking in spite of his condition, he was the perfect candidate to be on the show.
For the first time ever, Gene was able to get a true look at the world around him, but the first place his gaze went was toward his wife and son.
Joy is standing on the sidelines at the show, holding their little boy, Lincoln. When Gene sees Joy, all he can breathe is “Oh, she’s pretty!” Sure enough, he is right, and we are so glad that he was finally able to see her first-hand for himself!
Knowing that her husband is finally able to see her face, Joy breaks down in tears. While the couple met early in life, it was the first time that she’d ever been able to know that her husband could actually see her.
No matter what happens to this little couple, we are so happy for the moments that they got to spend looking at one another!
You can watch the video clip for yourself and enjoy this heartwarming moment. Just be prepared – you may not be able to see much either around the tears that are gathering in your eyes!
What do you think of technology that can make things like this possible?
