If music is food for the soul, then İpek Nisa Göker has it in abundance. The 8-year-old Turkish girl is lighting up the hearts of music lovers everywhere with her stunning piano skills. She can play classics of the likes of Chopin and Mozart as well as compose her own pieces. But what makes her artistry even more remarkable is that she is blind.

Her family, who reside in Turkey’s seaside town of Kaş in Antalya, discovered her talent early on, prompting her mother to post videos of her daughter playing the piano. She began putting them up on Instagram in April 2021 and YouTube in September of the same year. She now has more than 95,500 followers on Instagram and 8,500 subscribers to her YouTube channel. Among the posts are videos of Göker deftly playing pieces such as Handel’s “Sarabande” and “Chopin’s Spring Waltz” by French composer Paul de Senneville.

Göker also composes her own pieces. In various Instagram posts, her mother would explain the inspiration behind the original scores and their titles. For example, on Jan. 29, 2022, Göker tickled the ivories of her newest musical score titled “Mr. Loran,” about “a 7-year-old boy who dreamed of hovering in the sky holding on to the wings of birds.”

video posted on July 13, 2022, showed Göker playing another complex original piece. Her mother explained that her daughter came to her in the middle of the night saying she couldn’t sleep and asked if she could play the piano instead. “With permission, I took a snapshot. This composition came out. She named it ‘Dream.’”

But how does she learn to play the intricate piano pieces without being able to read music sheets? Her mom showed how in a tearful video posted on May 13, 2022.

In the clip, Göker’s mom played the opening credits song from the TV show “Game of Thrones.” After one listen, Göker played what she had heard almost perfectly, moving her mother to tears.

Her mother also explained, “she first records the notes she listens to in her head, then tries to play them part by part. She never forgets what he hears.”

With her immense talent, Göker has attracted the attention of music lovers in Turkey and has been invited to perform at the renowned Maximum Uniq hall in Istanbul and other venues, as well as made appearances on television

Her mom also announced Göker would soon release an album “composed entirely of her own compositions” and showed her daughter lighting up the sound booth during a recording session.

Göker, who is one of a set of triplets, celebrated her eighth birthday on May 20, 2022, alongside her sisters, with videos and photos showing mom, dad and the girls enjoying the simple things in life like blowing bubbles and taking walks in the park.

In one inspiring post, Göker dances with her dad to a recording of an original composition written for her father called “Flowers of my heart.”

Her videos have been a hit online, with users impressed by her talent at such a young age.

“Incredible. This is as smooth and perfectly played as I have ever heard it. Not just mistake-free notes but perfect rhythm and pitch. All with her tiny hands,” one fan tweeted.

“She’s super talented not like anyone I’ve seen before. God bless her,” another wrote on Instagram.

We’re so happy to see Göker’s talent being nurtured by her family and recognized by thousands, and we wish her many more happy days playing her piano.
