Blake Shelton has become the biggest name in the country music industry in recent years. He kicked off the first concert in his Country Music Freaks tour the other night to much anticipation. Shelton went the whole nine yards to deliver a great show. He brought Trace Adkins as his special guest and had Carley Pearce and Brett Eldredge as the opening acts.

The tour started in Oklahoma on the evening of February 15. Shelton felt it was right to start his major tour in his home state. The tour lasted all the way until March 17 and is one of Shelton's most successful tours to date. During the opening concert, Shelton played all 24 of his number one hits as well as some deeper cuts. The night was a success right from the beginning with the crowd cheering and singing along to every song.

"Lonely Tonight" is a fan-favorite number one that Shelton released with Ashley Monroe, a singer from Pistol Annies. This duet has been a personal favorite of both singers since the song was written. Although Monroe was not present on opening night, Shelton still wanted to perform the song. He knew that singing the song alone wouldn't capture the same feeling. Shelton had to find someone to help sing Monroe's part.

Carly Pearce, Shelton's newest addition to the tour, gladly rose to the challenge. She delivered stunning vocals that complemented Shelton's voice perfectly. The harmonies were angelic and the crowd was blown away. Fans of the song who knew the original singer were particularly impressed with Pearce's vocals.

Pearce posted about the duet on her Instagram account and tagged Shelton in the description. She was clearly excited to join Shelton for the duet and surprised about the offer at the same time. The crowd began cheering and clapping as Shelton brought Pearce out onto the stage. Shelton clearly felt that "Lonely Tonight" was a single of his that couldn't be passed during the tour.

The song was released on Shelton's Bringing Back the Sunshine album that was released in 2014. Although Shelton and Monroe sing the duet, the song was written by Ryan Hurd and Brent Anderson.
