Some say Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are an unexpected couple, but they don't see it that way. The two spoke to Gayle King in January for the 2020 Grammys about what makes their beautiful relationship work. In a word, Blake admits it's Gwen's understanding.

The country singer and the rockstar sat down for an intimate interview for The Gayle King GRAMMY Special, a series of interviews in advance of music's biggest night. The sweet conversation gave a glimpse into their lives as a couple and collaborators on making music.

When Gayle addressed the idea that the two might seem like an odd couple, referring to Blake as a pick-up truck and beef-eater and Gwen as a Porsche and vegan, Blake had a response, saying "all of those things like that are just little details.”

“What matters to me is just the human being that she is on the inside,” he told Gayle. “She has a way of looking at life in a way that I’ve never experienced,” he continued. “And she always says that she doesn’t understand what I mean, but she has a way of looking at a person’s situation from every angle.”

“She’s the most understanding, kindhearted person I’ve ever met.”

Blake and Gwen also performed their hit duet "Nobody But You," on the Grammy stage to a rousing reception. The chemistry between the two musicians was undeniable in the video clip.
