Country singer Blake Shelton celebrated his longtime girlfriend and fellow musician Gwen Stefani on social media this week after their duet Nobody But You reached the top spot on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart for the April 20-26 tracking period. The milestone marks Stefani’s first-ever number one hit on the country charts.

Since January when Shelton and Stefani first dropped the track, the hit song has sold 750,000 track equivalents and garnered 80 million streams, according to WNCY Country. Shelton released a statement to ET following the good news, praising the song’s writers and thanking his fans:

I knew the moment I heard this song that I wanted to record it," Blake said in his statement to ET. "Shane McAnally, Ross Copperman, Josh Osborne, and Tommy Lee James, you wrote a perfect song in which every lyric has meaning in my life, and I thank you. Another thanks goes to the fans who continue to listen — and I know there are a lot of distractions these days — one day soon we can all celebrate music together again."

But since congratulations were also in order for the talented Gwen Stefani’s first-ever country hit, Shelton made sure to thank his musical partner and girlfriend on social media and in the statement, writing that it was “one the most special songs” he’s recorded to date. In January, Shelton also released a romantic music video on YouTube to accompany the track, which heavily featured Stefani. The musical couple’s video has over 27 million views as of April 2020.

After working on The Voice together in 2014, the musical power couple began dating a year later, according to ET. It was a big transition for the two since both singers were going through divorces at the time. But it didn’t take long until Shelton says that he had fallen in love, describing it as the “greatest moment of my life” to ET. Shelton and Stefani’s new hit song — released on Shelton's new album, Fully Loaded: God's Country — is part of their love story with emotional lyrics like, “Looking in your eyes now, if I had to die now / I don't wanna love nobody but you.”

"Gwen was crying when we even just talked about singing it together at all," Shelton told ET of the personal duet back in 2019. "It just seemed to fit perfectly with our story, and, musically, I think it walks the line of what I can do and what she can do. Everything just kind of aligned and came together, and it's one of those once-in-a-lifetime moments."

Despite rumors that the two pop stars held a secret marriage ceremony and the fact that Shelton says he “loves” the rumors, the couple has yet to tie the knot, according to ET, though perhaps this milestone would make the perfect moment for a surprise proposal.
