Blake Shelton Performs At Honky Tonk To Cover Garth Brooks’ ‘Much Too Young’ & ‘Papa Loved Mama’

Back in 2013, renowned country star Blake Shelton gave a rousing live performance. Part of his set were cover versions of the classic Garth Brooks songs "Much Too Young" and "Papa Loved Mama". Shelton, known for covering his favorite country songs by other performers, captured the crowd's attention with his heartfelt cover. They were singing along with every word.

Fans of Blake Shelton at this performance back in 2013 were in for a special treat that evening. The country star, known for covering songs he personally likes, decided to round out his set with two classic country songs. He went for a medley of two classic Garth Brooks hits: "Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old)" and "Papa Loved Mama". The first song, later one of his greatest hits, was originally released on Brooks self-titled debut album in 1989. "Papa Loved Mama", another hit song, was released in 1992 with his fourth album.

Shelton certainly gave his best to cover the two songs. The crowd already cheered when the band started playing the first notes of the song, instantly recognizing the counrty hit. Then Shelton started singing and everybody joined in. Shelton's deep, heartfelt voice did Brooks' hit justice. He delivered the lyrics with the same conviction as if he were singing one of his self-written songs. The audience was absolutely loving it.

After a much deserved round of applause at the end of the song, Shelton seamlessly transitioned over into "Papa Loved Mama". Again the crowd instantly joined in. Shelton and the band accompanying him delivered a flawless cover. This evening was certainly very special for every country fan who had the fortune to be there. This moment will be a fond memory for quite a few audience members!
