Blake Shelton Introduces Wife 'Gwen Stefani Shelton' During Post-Wedding Show

Jul 29, 2021 by apost team

It's been a huge month for Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, who finally tied the knot over the Fourth of July weekend after six years together. The couple has shared an incredibly sweet, high-profile romance ever since it was revealed in 2015 that the two, who were both coaches on "The Voice" at the time, were an item.

Often praising each other on social media and declaring their love for each other, it even became a hot topic in the media about whether the couple would ever get married. That all changed when they announced their engagement in Oct. 2020, with both of them sharing the good news on their respective Instagram accounts.

Gwen shared the news first by posting a photo of the two of them kissing while she held up her hand, flashing the gorgeous ring on her finger. She captioned the photo, "yes please!" Shelton posted the same photo on his Instagram with the caption: "Hey @gwenstefani thanks for saving my 2020... And the rest of my life... I love you. I heard a YES!"

Well, the time finally arrived and earlier this month the couple got married at Shelton's ranch in Oklahoma, in a chapel that the country singer is said to have built himself with some help, specifically for the purpose of marrying Gwen there. Host of "The Voice" Carson Daly officiated the ceremony.

Now, mere weeks after becoming husband and wife, Stefani and Shelton performed their song "Happy Anywhere" live together at the CMA Summer Jam in Nashville, Tennessee. What's more, Shelton introduced Stefani with a new marital surname!

Blake Shelton was performing on the first night of the CMA Summer Jam on Tuesday in Nashville, Tennessee, when he brought out his new wife Gwen Stefani to join him in a rendition of their song "Happy Anywhere."

The country crooner was dressed in his staple black button-down shirt as he performed onstage. As he began singing "Happy Anywhere," the crowd could be heard cheering once they saw that Stefani came out to join her new husband onstage. Dressed in a country-influenced look that also had a hint of bridalwear to it, Stefani donned a fringed white top and skirt with white heeled cowboy boots. Her platinum blond hair was worn in a high ponytail with black dipped ends, while her signature red lips made the entire look pop.

The two newlyweds were clearly having a lot of fun performing on-stage together as they sang mostly facing each other, which makes sense considering the song's theme of love and that they just got married! Understandably, fans were ecstatic to see the two lovebirds perform their duet live. During one of the song's instrumental breaks, Shelton officially introduced Stefani to the crowd, stating, "Gwen Stefani Shelton." The crowd went wild as Stefani smiled widely and put her left hand over her heart. Despite the introduction, it's still unclear whether the singer has officially changed her name to include her husband's.

Stefani posted a photo of herself from the day to Instagram, which gave her fans a full look at her cute outfit. The recent bride was glowing and even took the opportunity to poke fun at her beloved new husband. She captioned the post:

"@blakeshelton next time I get to wear a pretty dress will u take a picture with me? gx #picturetakerhater"

Fans who weren't lucky enough to see the duo perform live can catch the concert when it's televised on ABC as a primetime special. The concert also featured headline acts from other country music artists including Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Luke Combs and more.

And although Stefani and Shelton have been married for less than one month, this wasn't actually their first performance as husband and wife. More than 10 days after getting hitched, the couple performed an intimate show at Shelton's Ole Red bar in Oklahoma, where they sang their duets "Nobody But You" and "Happy Anywhere."

Clearly still buzzing off their incredible month filled with love, it's wonderful to finally see the pair married after the topic was on the table for a number of years. A source told ET that the day was "a picture-perfect intimate wedding with family" and that "it was a fairy-tale experience even for the guests." They added:

"Everyone who attended the ceremony was talking about Gwen and Blake's love for one another. They have been so careful because they've had their hearts broken and this wedding made everyone feel like dreams do really come true. They have both been through a lot and deserved to find each other. They were meant to be a couple in every way."

Congratulations once again to the happy couple and best wishes for their new married chapter! Who knows, maybe their duets and recent performances are just a hint that they might even be working on a whole album together. We'd love to see that!
