Blake Shelton Feels ‘Happy, And Safe’ With Wife Gwen Stefani And 3 Stepsons, Shifts Gears To Focus On Family

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have been a music power couple for six years now. Their relationship is incredibly sweet, as they've had a very high-profile romance ever since the two coaches from "The Voice" got together in 2015. They often praise each other on social media and declare their love for one another, and have already begun their beautiful life together.

Shelton first became known as a country music artist back in 2001 with his song "Austin," which instantly launched him into stardom. Since then, Shelton has shared his musical talent through his honest, emotional, and fun songs.

Meanwhile, Stefani first found fame with her band No Doubt during the 1990s and has since gone on to make a real name for herself as a solo artist with hits like "Cool" and "Hollaback Girl."

Finding solace with each other after their respective divorces, Shelton and Stefani live happily in Oklahoma with the latter’s three kids from ex-husband Gavin Rossdale – 16-year-old Kingston, 14-year-old Zuma, and 8-year-old Apollo.

In his matrimony with Stefani, Shelton took on the new role of becoming a step-father to three boys, a rather daunting task for the 46-year-old country musician who has been living in the spotlight and has done nothing but perform and coach up-and-coming musicians in the business.

Earlier this year, Shelton announced that he would be leaving “The Voice” after Season 23, finishing his stint on the show as the longest-running judge for more than a decade already. Stefani, who is also on the show, will also take a bow as a coach after Season 22.

In a chat with People Magazine in December 2022, Shelton finally opened up about what his plans were in the coming years after “The Voice” and balancing a life in the spotlight and his newfound love – his family.

Shelton has donned many cowboy hats before, but the newest one he'll be wearing is the ultimate hat of em’ all – fatherhood.

After years of performing in heavily-packed arenas and concert stages, it looks like Shelton and Stefani are finally at the point in their lives where they want to relax and enjoy the fruits of their labor.

"Gwen and I have done so much traveling and touring and work the first half of our lives that now we're like, 'Hey, I'm good to put my sweatpants on at 6 p.m. and watch Ozark eight times. That's our life now, and we love it,” Shelton told People Magazine.

The two have been in a relationship since 2015, bonding with each other as they traversed the complicated life of being in separate divorces.

The couple found each other, thanks to “The Voice.” They collaborated on different albums, which went on to perform really well on the charts — proving the two of them harmonize and complement each other really well.

"The relationship that we have is so natural and so normal. This feels like the easiest thing I've ever been a part of," he recalled to the magazine. "To me, she's my best friend and everything that I need and lean on."

With his impending “The Voice” departure, Shelton assured his fans that although he's slowing down, there are still other projects he has going on, however, he's focusing on family first.

"I've had people say, 'Man, come on. You're not quitting The Voice (to do) nothing!' But I really am. Please, I'm accepting ideas," he quipped. "I have Barmageddon — we can do a whole season in a couple weeks, and it's a blast for me — and my Lands' End clothing line. It's time to push some of this (work) stuff out and let more family and personal life in."

Shelton is confident that this next step in his life is bigger than him already.

"If I walked away from my career at this time, the only thing that I run the risk of is having regrets that I'm missing out on some more important things in life. For now, that's our kids. This isn't about me anymore and never will be again," the singer said in the same interview with People Magazine.

In his marriage with ex-wife Miranda Lambert, Shelton had no children. It was only in his marriage with Stefani that the singer had the chance to become a full-time father too.

"Even though I'm a stepparent, I take that job very seriously. The kids see me as a very important person in their life," he shared. "(When they ask,) 'Why isn't Blake here?' I take that stuff to heart. I've made plenty of money, but you can't buy time back. I don't want any regrets."

Shelton is now settling well in his Oklahoma ranch with Stefani and the three boys, an escape from the busy world of Los Angeles in California.

"We get away from everything (in Los Angeles), and we're just us. It truly does feel different. That's where I feel the most comfortable, happy, and safe,” he said, referring to their Oklahoma home.

In an interview earlier this year with Entertainment Tonight, Shelton underscored that his music will be on the “backseat” for the foreseeable future.

"Look, I love music and I love The Voice. I love all the cool things I get to do with my job, but those things all take a backseat now to Gwen and the kids and it’s just a new phase of my life," the “Home” singer told the outlet.
