It is often said that everything happens for a reason. Often, the most unexpected of events can even bring us the most joy in life. That’s exactly what happened for one woman when she stumbled upon a surprise that she couldn’t see coming. The woman, named Nicole, was spending time at a farm when she came across something adorable but very unexpected.

She found two small kittens cuddled up together in the barn of the farm. Even though they were cute, she could tell that something was wrong with the kittens. They had mites all over their fur and it was clear that they both had some sort of ear infection. As an animal lover, she knew that she had to do something to help the kittens.

‘It changed very quickly,’ Nicole tells Metro UK. Two years later Elli looks like a totally different cat.

Knowing that she couldn’t let them suffer from their health conditions alone, Nicole rushed both kittens to her home where she decided to adopt them. Happy with her new bundles of joy, it was time to get them healthy again. Nicole bonded tightly with one of the kittens that she named Elli.

Elli’s personality was amazing for a young cat, and she loved attention, affection and playing with her new owner. Nicole even compared the cat to a loyal dog with the way that she bonded so quickly. However, nine months into the adoption, Nicole saw something on Elli that confused and startled her.

The kitten, once completely black, had a small white spot on her fur. Nicole instinctively tried to remove it, as she figured it was a pile of lint or something that had gotten on her fur. But it seemed that the piece was actually Elli’s fur itself! As time went on, Elli continued to become more and more spotted with white dots.

Her fur was changing colors at a rapid pace, and soon enough she looked more like a dalmatian or a cow than a black cat!

Obviously, Nicole knew that the kitten needed to be checked out by a vet in order to determine what was happening to her fur. She was fearing the worst when she entered the office, but the vet gave her some even more unexpected news.

Thankfully, Elli’s condition is not life-threatening but is very rare. What do you think about this beautiful kitten’s new spots? Let us know in the comments and pass this along to your friends and family to brighten their days!
