Bindi and her husband-to-be just released some details on their upcoming nuptials. The conservationists opened up about how they will be having a “unique” wedding at the place where they met and got engaged, the Australia Zoo.

Bindi Irwin announced on Instagram that she was getting hitched to Chandler Powell-- her longtime boyfriend. Bindi and her fiance began dating six years ago when Chandler visited the Australia Zoo where she worked. The couple told Entertainment Tonight that they began a long-distance relationship before Chandler was able to get a job alongside Bindi at the Australia Zoo.

The young star shared engagement photos showing off the new ring on her finger. She wrote alongside the photos,

“On my birthday I said ‘yes’ and ‘forever’ to the love of my life. Chandler, close to 6 years ago I fell in love with you and every day since has been a whirlwind of adventure and true happiness."

The couple revealed to Good Morning America the unique elements they will be having on their wedding day. Chandler said, “So I think this wedding is going to be unique because it’s going to be at the zoo with tons of animals.” Bindi added, “I’m not sure how many people have walked down the aisle with a koala but we may be setting some new trends for weddings from here on out.”

Chandler also revealed in the interview how Bindi is a master planner. “She has color-coded binders. She has itineraries for all of us. It makes my job easy!” Bindi also agreed, saying, “ I chose a dress yesterday and it was amazing. Funnily enough, I have everything else planned.”

Bindi told Entertainment Tonight that she has always imagined her wedding since she was a little girl. To honor Steve, Bindi’s younger brother, Robert, will walk her down the aisle in Steve’s place.

"For me, it will be really important that Robert walks me down the aisle," Bindi explained.  "Ever since Dad passed away as a little girl you always think about your wedding day and I'm always so grateful that Robert is there and that he is such a big part of my life.”

Bindi's father, Steve Irwin, died tragically in 2006 while filming a documentary on ocean life. Bindi’s mom, Terri, will also play an important role at the wedding. Throughout her childhood and into her adult years, Bindi and Terri have had an unshakeable bond as both continue to help animals around the world. A strong tradition at most weddings involves a dance with the bride and her father. With Steve gone, Terri will fill in at the father-daughter dance.
