Bindi Irwin And Chandler Powell: A Celebration Of Their Young Love

You may remember Bindi Irwin when she was a little girl at her dad, Steve Irwin’s, side on the show “Crocodile Hunter.” However, Bindi has grown up quickly since her younger days, in fact, the Animal Planet star is about to tie the knot with her long-time love and co-star, Chandler Powell!

Bindi Irwin announced on Instagram that she is getting hitched! Bindi and her hubby-to-be began dating six years ago when Chandler visited the Australia Zoo where she worked. The couple told Entertainment Tonight that they began a long-distance relationship before Chandler was able to get a job alongside Bindi at the Australia Zoo.

The young star shared engagement photos showing off the new ring on her finger. She wrote alongside the photos,

“On my birthday I said ‘yes’ and ‘forever’ to the love of my life. Chandler, close to 6 years ago I fell in love with you and every day since has been a whirlwind of adventure and true happiness.

I’m so looking forwarding to spending our forever together as your wife. Here’s to a lifetime of friendship, purpose and unconditional love. — Now let’s get married already!”

Bindi had told Entertainment Tonight that she thinks her late father Steve Irwin would approve of Chandler. Steve Irwin tragically died in 2006 after a fatal encounter with a stingray.

“I hope he'd like Chandler. I think he would, I mean, Chandler's wonderful. He's always up for a challenge,” Bindi said. 

She added, ”From jumping on crocodiles to getting his little cocky bow tie on, you know he's doing good. So, I hope dad would love Chandler. We all love him." Chandler similarily told the tabloid,

“It's amazing to be part of such an incredible cause and to work for Steve's legacy and to do alongside the most beautiful girl in the world," he said adding, "And to have the best teachers alongside me, it's incredible. It's such fulfilling work. I love it."
