Billy Baldwin's Teenage Son Battled Cancer Privately, He Is Now Recovering

Billy Baldwin and Chynna Philips' 17-year-old son, Vance, recently announced that he has quietly been dealing with a cancer diagnosis for the last year. At present, Vance Baldwin remains in remission from cancer.

The Baldwins chose to keep their son's diagnosis and battle private, which remains their right during this difficult time in their lives.

Vance Baldwin announced his diagnosis and struggle with cancer recently on his private Instagram, @vazsers, which his dad @thebillybaldwin reposted. He was diagnosed almost exactly a year ago and Vance had the blessing to declare that he's been cancer-free for some months now.

The Instagram post quickly went viral after Billy shared it. Fans of Billy and people who know the family was shocked by the announcement. These fans were surprised that the family kept the diagnosis and treatment a secret from many. Even more surprising was the family's ability to keep up their spirits while dealing with this dreaded disease.

Many comments were left on the page in support of Vance and his family. People from casual followers to celebrities such as Cindy Crawford left messages of love and support for the Baldwins.

In his announcement, Billy Baldwin stated that his son had been diagnosed with cancer when Vance was 16. Vance wanted the diagnosis and treatment to remain very quiet. Vance experienced 18 rounds of chemo and remained very positive throughout these severe treatments. During his chemotherapy, Vance's goal was to keep his normal life going as typically as possible, every day.

Billy described his son as tough, sharp, funny, courageous, brave, and strong. He stated that he's never been prouder of Vance. Some individuals close to the family knew about Vance's cancer diagnosis and treatment. Vance didn't want the public to find out about his cancer diagnosis, however.

Billy Baldwin also expressed his love and gratitude for Vance's supporters. He complimented Vance's coaches, teachers, and family for their exceptional support of their son during this stressful time. All of their love and support got Vance and the Baldwin family through this trying time.

Billy also called Dr. Lawrence Piro, Vance's doctor, an amazing man amidst other words of praise. The family appreciated both the original post by Vance and the resulting positive posts by Billy and his wife.

Vance Baldwin has two sisters. Brook is 14, while Jameson is 19. Vance was also well enough to attend Justin Bieber's wedding to Billy's niece Hilary Baldwin in South Carolina.
