According to the Daily Mail, Gates purchased the superyacht, dubbed Aqua, for a whopping $645 million.

Aqua is reportedly 370 ft long and features 5 decks, with space for up to 31 crew members and 14 guests. It also features many luxurius amenities including a yoga studio, a gym, a beauty room, a massage parlor, and a cascading pool.

Plans for the eco-friendly superyacht debuted last year at the Monaco Yacht Show. The boat is expected to be completed in 2024.

Gates, who is the second richest person in the world, is reportedly fond of boat vacations and frequently rents boats for summer vacations around the Mediterranean.

Aqua is fueled by hydrogen, which is pumped through a fuel cell and eventually converted into energy. It will be able to travel almost 4,000 miles before needing to refuel.

Sander Sinot, the designer behind the boat, is hoping his design will inspire a new eco-friendly approach to build superyachts.

“With every project, I challenge my team and myself to surpass ourselves,” Sinot said. “For development of AQUA we took inspiration from the lifestyle of a discerning, forward-looking owner, the fluid versatility of water and cutting-edge technology to combine this in a superyacht with truly innovative features.”
