Betty White was married twice before she found the love of her life, Allen Ludden, a game show host. The happy couple was married for 18 years before very sadly Ludden succumbed in 1981 to stomach cancer.
Betty White was very briefly married to Dick Barker in 1945. Her second marriage, in 1947, only lasted two years. Betty White says her then-husband, Lane Allen, tried to force her out of show business so she divorced him.

"He didn't want me to be in show business," the star revealed, as per the Insider. "When you have a calling you have to follow it, so I made the choice, blew the marriage and I've never regretted it."

Betty White admitted to Oprah that not accepting his proposal the first time is her biggest regret. She said:
"I spent a whole year, wasted a whole year that Allen and I could have had together, saying, 'No, I wouldn't marry him. No, I won't. No, I won't leave California," White revealed. "No, I won't move to New York."
"I wasted a whole year," she added.
