Beth Chapman, star of the "Dog The Bounty Hunter" series and spinoff shows, passed away earlier this week after battling throat cancer. Her husband, Duane "Dog" Chapman spoke with the press to talk about her passing and the events the family will be planning following her death.

Duane fought back tears when speaking to Hawaii News Now about Beth’s fight with cancer and her untimely passing. “For a few years, we knew this day would come,” Duane said, “It came really unexpected, really fast. All of her clothes, her make-up, everything. We didn’t prepare.” Duane also revealed plans to have two memorial services that will honor Beth’s life.

Beth lived in two states, Colorado and Hawaii, so the family is planning to have services in both places. However, as her death came unexpectedly they do not yet know dates for ceremonies.

“You kind of try to remember that you’re celebrating life, but right now we’re mourning the death,” Duane said. Lyssa Chapman, Duane’s daughter speaking on the plans they have to honor Beth’s life, "We would like to do some sort of water paddle out, we know that for sure,” she also added, "It actually makes us feel, you know, warm, to know how much our mother was loved."

The family also warned the public to be aware of people asking for donations for Beth. “We don’t need any money at all. Please, save your money," Duane said. "There’s nothing being authorized from any of us.”

Sources close to the Chapman family told The Blast that Beth gave them instructions to have her remains cremated. Typically in water paddle out ceremonies, cremated ashes are spread in the water. However, the source reports, “it's currently unclear if the family plans on keeping her ashes in an urn, or spreading them at a special location.”
