Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara were a comedy duo who were married for 62 years in real life. Anne, who passed away in 2015 at the age of 85, was also an accomplished actress outside of the couple's comedy routine together. Ben makes mention of his parents' incredible 62-year union in the interview with The Today Show. He also discussed how eager his father was to bring joy into other peoples' lives, and that he was thankful he was able to do so throughout his entire life.

They're Now Together Again

Speaking about his father Jerry, Ben said in The Today Show interview:

"And then to meet my mom. They connected and fell in love and were married for 62 years, and they just had a beautiful relationship."

People magazine reported that he also said:

"They found each other and they were there for each other. Not to get too sappy, but I feel like they're connected again."

Jerry and Anne's Love Story

Not only did the couple leave their mark on the entertainment world with their acting and comedy, both individually and together, but they also greatly influenced their two children Ben and Amy, who would both go on to become actors and comedians. The couple met in 1953 and the rest, as they say, is history. By the 1970s, Jerry and Anne had decided to stop their joint comedy routine but continued on in individual paths within the entertainment industry, occasionally coming together again in TV shows. After Anne died in 2015, Jerry expressed, "I miss her," as reported by Country Living.

Raised With Love in Show Business

People magazine reported that in the past Ben has discussed how his famous father shaped him, stating: "He has great advice. He's very sensitive." In the interview he goes on to discuss how he and his sister's upbringing in the entertainment industry wasn't traditional, but they loved it.

Ben's Relationship With His Parents

Last year, Page Six reported that Ben wanted to make a documentary about his parents. Ben worked closely with them both throughout his career—with his father in Zoolander and his mother in Night at the Museum. It would be a wonderful homage for their son to honor them in such a beautiful way.
