Beaten and Burned Puppy Found Tied In Plastic Bag Rescued From Dumpster

While many people would rather die than willfully hurt their own pet, stories about animal cruelty are unfortunately still all too common. One of the more horrendous events you may ever hear about recently involved a 3-week-old pitbull-mix puppy.

This vulnerable puppy was taken away from its mother, tied in a plastic bag and left in a dumpster for dead.

When rescuers from the Animal Hope & Wellness Foundation discovered the puppy, they sadly realized that the abuse she endured extended beyond what immediately met the eye. The puppy's little legs had been brutally crushed, and she had suffered extensive burns along a large section of her back.

The puppy, who was appropriately named Hope, received emergency medical attention. The rescue team that found her believed that she had received a chemical or heat burn and stated that her tail had also been cut off, according to the Foundation's Facebook post. They held out little hope that she would be able to walk because of the severity of her injuries.

A month after being rescued, the team announced that she has a long road of healing in front of her. However, her healing is progressing well, and she is now expected to make a full recovery.

They even posted pictures of her taking a few steps unassisted.

In addition to treating her injuries, the foundation that rescued her is actively seeking justice for the horrendous abuse that Hope has endured. They placed a $10,000 reward for information that identifies the guilty party and leads to an arrest. Celebrities Shannen Doherty and Joanna Krupa also made individual contributions of $5,000 each, which brought the total reward to $20,000.

While no arrest has yet been made, a loving home for Hope has been found. After she has fully recovered, she will get settled in with her new family. Have you participated in animal rescues like this one? Leave your story below for our readers to learn from.
