Aug 07, 2019 by apost team

Today, there are many animals all around the world who are bread, birthed, and raised in captivity. They don’t ever have the experience of being in nature. This was almost the case for these bears who up until recently, were looking at the same fate. Thankfully, their luck changed.

Recently, seventeen bears were forced into captivity from the time they were born. They were rescued by a rescue organization. Just by the look on their faces, you can tell they were more than ready to experience freedom for the very first time.

Before their rescue, they were held in Georgia at a Bear Park. They were held in concrete pits with little to no wildlife. The pits they were in were to prevent them from climbing out and escaping. Concrete pits are cheap to build and easier to clean.

The Atlanta Humane Society partnered with PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) to help these bears. They were rescued and then released in Keenesburg, Colorado in a wildlife sanctuary.

When they were released, they finally had the freedom to play and roam around. For the first time, they were able to feel the fresh grass and feel the dirt underneath their paws. This was not something they had ever experienced before.

They were now living their best lives thanks to the Atlanta Humane Society and PETA.
