Basset Hound Assists Toddler In Clever Fridge Heist

The family pet becomes an accomplice in this toddler's fridge heist. This basset hound named Leroy decides to give his buddy a boost in order to score some snacks from the fridge. While they were probably attempting to be incognito, the pair's attempted heist was all caught on video.

Taking a page out of Home Alone, the toddler in this video has decided that he wants to steal food from the fridge. There's only one problem: he can't reach it. What does he do to solve the problem? He calls on his best buddy, a basset hound named Leroy, to stand in place while he reaches inside the fridge for a snack.

The toddler is so concentrated that he doesn't notice his mom recording it all right behind him. Is it safe for a toddler to use the dog as a ladder? No, and we do not recommend allowing your children to mimic this. However, Mom must know that the basset hound is faithful, and would never let something happen to his human.

Basset Hounds are known for being gentle and calm pets. They're a great choice of dog breed for families with little kids. Leroy almost looks bored as he waits for the toddler top of him to grab the snack he's looking for. Of course, since nobody is perfect, Leroy's boredom gets the best of him; he eventually walks away, leaving the toddler hanging from the fridge mid-heist.

Leroy's role as 'man's best friend' has already started, when said man is scarcely more than a baby. They must have a fantastic bond for Leroy to have stayed put for as long as he did; we wonder if the two of them schemed this beforehand.

Like Scooby and Shaggy, they tried to do something incognito, and much like Scooby, Leroy must have only been in it for the snack. We imagine he walked away when he realized there was no snack.

If you see your baby trying to climb on your dog, we suggest you stop said mischief. However, there is a lesson to be learned from this story: no matter how old they are, a man and his dog can pull off great things—sometimes.

Do you know of a heist like this? Pass this on to your friends and family so they can see the duo's clever idea, too!
