Shy Boy Comes Out Of His Shell When He Meets Rescue Kangaroo In Need Of Help

A shy little Aussie boy by the name of Huddy met his best friend Garry when he was sadly struck by a car and brought to Huddy's home to recover in 2018. But Garry was no ordinary patient, he was a baby kangaroo! The two young ones got to know each other and helped each other thrive.

Huddy's mom Prue is a wildlife rescuer and received a call one day about a kangaroo that was hit by a car. The tiny creature had fallen out of his mom's pouch and was injured by the roadside. It was a challenge for Prue and she was happy to accept the baby roo into her home, but little did she know that her family of 6 would benefit just as much as the recovering animal.

Especially her son Huddy who was a withdrawn little boy who didn't speak much to others. However, once Garry came on the scene everything changed.

Huddy helped Garry recover by feeding him and cleaning him, and generally being a friend to a baby who missed his mother. In the process, the boy adopted social skills that only an animal can help with.

"Huddy was really shy. If we would go anywhere he wasn't social. No one could see how beautiful and funny he was. He's really come out of his shell since he's had Garry," said Prue to The Dodo.

Of course, the little kangaroo cannot stay in a family home forever, and Huddy knew that in about eight months his best friend would have to leave for the wild. Even though Garry is now adapting to a wild life, their friendship will not be forgotten.

But Prue continues to adopt and nurse animals back to health with the help of a now outgoing Huddy by her side.
