Bartenders Would Not Serve Beer To Tom Hanks Because He Didn't Have ID

Tom Hanks went on Graham Norton and Ellen Degeneres'  talk shows to tell the story of how he was denied beer at the Stagecoach Music Festival back in April. Hanks' wife, country-singer Rita Wilson was performing at the festival when the Toy Story actor decided to get a beer from one of the stands. However, Hanks was shocked when the bartenders would not serve him a beer. 

"I must give credit to these ladies. They did not cave. I was offering them tickets to stuff!" Tom Hanks said to Ellen on her show in late May. Hanks said the festival was during the day which had him wanting "a nice tasty bucket of suds."

So he headed to a beer stand where four ladies were serving alcohol, he was confused when the ladies said they could not serve him his beer because his ID "has not been verified."

On the Graham Norton show, Hanks added to his story that he asked the ladies where he can get his ID verified and according to Hanks the ladies said, "Well, it's about half a mile on the other side of the fairgrounds." To which Hanks replied, "Look, not only am I who you think I am, I'm also 62 g****m years old, and I would really like to have a beer."

But apparently, the ladies would not sell Hanks a beer without having his ID verified with a wrist band that said he was over 21 years old. The manager of the bar stand was also called, and she gave Hanks the same answer. 

Fortunately, Hanks was able to get his cold one in the end telling Graham, "I did not have a beer until somebody went over and got me an ID bracelet," But Hanks said he went back to the bartenders to warn them saying, "Listen, this is going to make a great story on The Graham Norton Show."

Apart from the beer antics, it looks like Hanks and his wife Rita enjoyed the festival. Rita shared a photo of her and Hanks on her Instagram 2 days after the music event to celebrate their 31st wedding anniversary.
