Barbra Streisand Takes Over James Corden's Driver's Seat On 'Carpool Karaoke'

Carpool Karaoke is one of the most popular segments on The Late Late Show with James Corden. The quirky host has featured some of the biggest names in the music industry including Elton John, Paul McCartney and Bono.

The segment sees James Corden carpooling to work with a famous singer or actor as they sing songs together. Each episode has a unique guest and a different bit that is part of the segment.

James Corden also tries to hide the identity of the famous guest until the last minute to surprise the viewers. Corden almost had a heart attack while driving with his newest guest: Barbara Streisand.

Even though James Corden has featured some of the most famous musicians in the world, Barbara Streisand was able to set that bar even higher. This episode began with Corden finding that his car had been ticketed.

With a boot around the front wheel, there was no way for the host to make it work. After dialing a friend, a white vehicle pulled up to pick up James Corden. After hearing the guest speak for a second, the viewers cheered to see that it was Barbara Streisand.

Unlike other Carpool Karaoke segments, Corden was the passenger instead of the driver.

As music and singing is the point of the entire segment, Corden asked Streisand if he could turn on the radio. Streisand admitted that she usually doesn't use the radio to listen to music, although she eventually caved.

Streisand's hit 'Enough is Enough' was the first song that the two sang together. Streisand also announced her new album that had just been completed after a long hiatus from touring.

Within a few minutes of driving, Corden noticed that the Grammy-winning singer wasn't the best driver. Streisand admitted to having failed the written portion of the driving test three different times during the renewal process.

Streisand continued on by describing how complicated the questions are on the written exam. She also admitted that her mind can often "twirl" when she is driving. To make Corden even more uncomfortable, Streisand described a time when she unintentionally drove her car onto a highway on-ramp when she got distracted.

Corden laughed and jokingly said that he wouldn't mind going out while driving with Barbara Streisand in Carpool Karaoke.

During the segment, Streisand admitted to having significant stage fright that had kept her from performing live for over 27 years. She explained that she gets scared and doesn't want to disappoint anybody.

The conversation continued into different subjects as Streisand recounted the two times she had called the CEO of Apple. Most recently, Streisand called Tim Cook to complain about Siri's mispronunciation of her last name.

Cook took the complaint seriously and successfully corrected the mispronunciation.

Corden even tested the correction during the segment. Streisand had called Steve Jobs in the past when she needed computer help.

Although Streisand was happy to sing duets of her classic songs, she also featured a new song off of her latest record Walls. While some viewers may be turned off from this politically-charged album, Streisand described that each song was written to reflect something that was going on in the country today.
