Barbra Streisand Reveals That 2 Of Her New Puppies Are Actually Clones Of Her Previous Dog Who Died

The only thing bad about dogs is that they die far too soon. Even 10 or 15 years isn't enough time with our four-legged best friends, but modern science has made it possible to actually clone your dog and continue their legacy.
Legendary singer Barbra Streisand has done just that.
The long-time dog lover recently revealed that her two new puppies are clones of her beloved coton de tulear, Samantha, who passed away in 2017 at age 14.
"She was always with me; the last 14 years, she went everywhere I went,” Barbra said in an interview in November 2017. “She was at every performance. It was like losing a child. It was kind of awful."

Although Samantha, or "Sammie," as she was affectionately known, can never be replaced, Barbra has welcomed three new puppies into her heart and home.
The coton de tulear puppies are called Miss Violet and Miss Scarlet, and while they each have their own unique personality, they're both genetic clones of Sammie.
Barbra announced the arrival of the two puppies in an Instagram post on Christmas Day. She later revealed that two of the puppies had been cloned from cells taken from Sammie's mouth and stomach.
This isn't the first time dog cloning has made headlines; a Florida couple who spent $155,000 to clone their Labrador retriever made headlines in 2009.
Although death is a natural part of life, dog owners who can afford the hefty cost of genetic cloning may begin to explore an alternative to parting ways with their beloved pooch.
