A barber, who was once a soldier, has started a foundation to help homeless people by giving them free haircuts and training them to work in his own shops.
According to LadBible, Ged King is from Manchester. He decided to start his business after he left the army. He opened up his own barbershop in Sale. However, there was something he knew was missing. Ged stated that he had a very turbulent life in his past. He had his fair share of ups and downs. He was an ex-soldier but he always wanted to become a business owner.

It took him a while to get his life together. When he finally created the barber shop, he felt unfulfilled. He wasn’t happy, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on what it was. He got the dream he had been chasing and it didn’t feel right.
He didn’t want to just run his own business and make money. This led him to put a post on social media inviting the homeless to come into the shop for a free haircut. He also offered a job interview to those unemployed so they can help do the same thing.
They can come in, get cleaned up, and get ready for a job interview of their own. Ged stated to LadBible, “And I’m proud to say we’ve got loyal customers now who we first met when they were unemployed and now they’re working and they stick with us.”
The first customer who took him up on the offer was living in a tent for two years by the Manchester Ship Canal. He was told about Ged by a dog walker.
While it was a nice day for this man, Ged felt like the void inside him was gone. He had finally discovered what he was missing. He wanted that contribution to something other than just running a business. He started his foundation called Skullfades Foundation and Street Cuts. He gave homeless people in the area haircuts.
This started in Manchester as just a weekly event. Now, the event is nationwide. Ged and his tribe head out to London, Birmingham. The team even travels to refugee camps in Dunkirk and Calais.
Ged, along with his team, has given 3,000 haircuts so far for free. This is equal to $63,000. He now has two shops located in south Manchester. What do you think of Ged's mission? Tell us your thoughts below. Pass this article to your friends and family.
