Barack Obama Says Women Ruling All Nations Would Improve "Just About Everything" At Event In Singapore

Former President Barack Obama attended a private leadership event in Singapore where he opened up about who believes needs to be running the nation. The 49th president said he thinks if women ran the world everything would see improvement.

According to the BBC, Obama addressed a question about him possibly reentering politics. However, he divulged that he thinks leaders should know when their time is up and to step aside for somebody else. 

Obama went into the discussion on his opinion about where that many problems in the world come from. "If you look at the world and look at the problems it's usually old people, usually old men, not getting out of the way," he said.

"Now women, I just want you to know; you are not perfect, but what I can say pretty indisputably is that you're better than us [men]," Obama said. The former president also alluded to the thought that women should be running the world. 

"I'm absolutely confident that for two years if every nation on earth was run by women, you would see a significant improvement across the board on just about everything... living standards and outcomes," Obama said

Obama and his wife Michelle left the white house two years ago after serving two terms. Since leaving, the pair have traveled the world continued initiatives set through their charitable foundation. Adding to his opinion on political leaders knowing when enough is enough, Obama said:

"It is important for political leaders to try and remind themselves that you are there to do a job, but you are not there for life, you are not there in order to prop up your own sense of self importance or your own power."
