Former POTUS Barack Obama shared a throwback photo of he and Michelle Obama in honor of his foundation's kickoff in Chicago. The 49th president reflected on the first time he came to the windy city.

Posting a sweet photo of himself and Michelle cuddled up on a couch Obama wrote alongside the photo, "I came to Chicago in my 20s, still trying to figure out who I was. It was there that I found my community and my purpose."

The 58-year-old also talked about how he will be sharing his own story at the foundation's event. "Excited to be back here for the Obama Foundation Summit to hear some remarkable stories from folks around the world—and share my own," he said. Barack met Michelle in Chicago when he began working at a Chicago law firm.

Michelle told Good Morning America, that she “wasn’t impressed” with the 27-year-old first-year Harvard Law student. However, Michelle began to falter and admitted she had grown to like him.

"We had been hanging out, getting closer. Barack had suggested that we date," she said. "But I was like 'No, no be my friend. Do this, do that. It wouldn't be right, no.' And he was like, 'You're crazy, we should date. I like you, you like me,' and I liked that about him. He was straightforward; he wasn't playing games."

The couple then married three years later.

The couple celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary earlier this month with penned tributes to one another on social media. Barack wrote on Twitter, "Like the Beatles said: It’s getting better all the time. Thanks, babe, for 27 amazing years!" Michelle wrote a gushy post devoted to her husband saying:

"27 years ago, this guy promised me a life full of adventure. I’d say he’s delivered. Here’s to our next chapter of becoming empty nesters and discovering what’s next—while still feeling the magic that brought us together all those years ago. Happy anniversary, Barack."
