Barack And Michelle Obama Named One Of Hollywood’s Most Powerful People In Entertainment

Former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle have just been named one of the most powerful people in the entertainment business. From book deals to Netflix shows, this power couple placed fiftieth on the top 100 list. 

The Hollywood Reporter releases their annual list of the most powerful people in entertainment. They rank people based on their influence and power in the respective industry. Barack and Michelle Obama are new names to the list this year but well-deserved.

As the publication puts it, "Who wouldn't take their call?" With the premiere of their Netflix show, "American Factory" at the Sundance film festival, the Obamas have officially strongly infiltrated the entertainment industry.

Barack and Michelle produced the documentary, which has garnered rave reviews from critics with other publications speculating it could be in the running for an oscar. 

THR also says the Obamas have other projects in the works. "Adaptations of David W. Blight's Frederick Douglass bio and Michael Lewis' Fifth Risk, and Bloom, a post-World War II-era show about fashion — plus podcasts under a new deal with Spotify." It looks like nothing is stopping this powerhouse couple. 

Barack and Michelle also just placed first on a survey conducted by YouGov. In their most recent international survey, they wanted to find out who the U.S's most admired man and woman was.  Barack Obama came in first in the men's category as President Donald Trump trailed a close second. Clint Eastwood took the third spot while Microsoft found Bill Gates and entertainer Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson came in fourth and fifth.

Michelle Obama dominated the charts in both the U.S. category and the world category coming in first. In the U.S. poll, Michelle was followed by First Lady Melania Trump, talk show comedian Ellen DeGeneres, and Queen Elizabeth II.
