While catching up with Ellen DeGeneres through an at-home episode of the daytime talk show, Jennifer Lopez discussed how the public health situation has placed her in the role of homeschool teacher. While Lopez has been an actress and performer for many years, she spoke about how the challenge of being more involved in her children's schoolwork is unlike anything she's done before.
Jennifer's twins, Max and Emme, have been doing a virtual form of schooling, but as a mom, she is supervising and helping with homework. Lopez told Ellen:
"Honestly, I think we're all like, what is this? I'm not a teacher, and also, have you seen the math that they make the kids do now? It's a new math."
The actress went on:
"Half the time I'm like, 'OK, yeah, let's look up that word. What does that mean?' It's been an experience, for sure."

Even though Jennifer recognized the current situation as a "terrible" and "scary" time, Lopez also disclosed that she was grateful to get more time to spend with her family. The pop-star told Ellen:
"We don't know what's gonna happen, but having a reconnection with the family and Alex, and not having to run around so much, is kind of nice, too. So, making the best of it."

Lopez went on to talk about other things she was doing during the self-isolation period, such as making TikToks with her partner and children. Ellen also asked her about the wedding she was supposed to have, and even suggested that Lopez should do a small wedding on TikTok to make people at home happy.
Jennifer responded:
"It's something to think about. I can't make any commitments right now."
