Back At It—Jennifer Lopez And Jimmy Fallon Face Off In Dance Challenge

Last Friday, legendary pop singer Jennifer Lopez went head-to-head with talk show host Jimmy Fallon in an epic TikTok dance-off.

The two celebrities were challenged to recreate viral dances from the video platform, but with a catch: they were only allowed to watch the performance once before replicating them.

J-Lo appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last Friday, where she went up against Fallon for the challenge.

“Jennifer and I are going to watch a TikTok challenge that neither one of us have ever seen before. We’re going to try to recreate it, and whoever gets closest to it wins that round,” Fallon explained.

The singer admitted she was nervous about the dance-off as she feared her children Emme and Max, both 12, would scold her should she get the moves wrong.

“I’m gonna go down in flames in front of my kids. It’s fine,” Lopez joked. “They’re like, ‘Mom, don’t embarrass us!'”

“I’m kinda known for my dancing so this is gonna be easy for me,” Fallon humorously replied.

The pair faced off with the “Laxed (Siren Beat)” challenge followed by “Get Busy,” before Lopez challenged the talk show host to complete a choreography of hers from World of Dance’s season 4. The pop star was clearly impressed by Fallon’s dancing skills, admitting that it can be challenging to keep up with the TikTok generation.

“That wasn’t bad! It’s hard to do these in one thing,” she said. “These kids take hours to do their TikToks and get them right.”

It wasn’t the first time the two got down to boogie together. In 2014, JLo joined Fallon on his show to dance on his “Tight Pants” segment.

Fallon isn’t the only celeb to be lucky enough to get dance lessons from the pop star. Earlier this month, Lopez gave her Super Bowl coheadliner, Shakira, lessons on how to shake her booty, according to US Magazine

The Hit The Floor singer took to Instagram to post a behind-the-scenes video of their rehearsals for the Superbowl from earlier this year.

“I do it with my knees, I shake my knees. You shake your knees, the butt shakes too,” Lopez explains to Shakira in one of the videos. “My mom taught me that when I was 4.”

Last month, JLo’s fiance Alex Rodriguez revealed to Fallon in an April episode that he and the singer had decided to postpone their upcoming nuptials as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We have to go with the flow now. Everything is fluid. Everything has been just on a pause,” Rodriguez said. “[We’ll] see where the world takes us. Obviously, this is an unprecedented time. And for us, we just want to make sure that we think safety first and make sure that all the little ones are in a good place.”
