A family from the Indianapolis area is extremely grateful to the world for the baby that survived through conditions that they consider to be a miracle. Their precious child managed to survive even though his chances were slim, beating all of the odds in order to persevere. According to WXIN, the parents of the child, Daniel Breyts and Jess Novac, welcomed their son into the world in 2018 and named him Rowan.

But Rowan started out his time in this world under unfortunate circumstances. The baby was three months premature, and he only weighed around a pound!

Because of this rough start in life, doctors didn’t expect him to survive much longer, breaking the hearts of his parents.

In fact, the doctors that were taking care of Rowan during this time gave him less than a 1/100 chance of life. Jess and Daniel had to hear heartbreaking news over and over again from the medical staff, even being told to prepare for his funeral in a worst-case scenario.

Obviously, this is heartbreaking for any parent to hear, but Jess and Daniel were not ready to give up on their newborn son just yet.

The parents wanted so desperately for their child to survive, but also did not want to have to put their son through any pain and suffering if holding on was going to be too difficult for the little boy.

So for two months, they watched over their son as he went through more hardship. Rowan developed necrotizing enterocolitis, also known as NEC, which is a condition that puts attacks out on the intestines.

After some time had passed and Rowan was surviving, the parents decided to take their son to Riley Hospital for Children in order to see what the doctors there thought about Rowan’s condition. This is where the parents got the news that would change their lives forever. The doctors at this hospital believed that Rowan would be able to survive and that he could be saved from pain and suffering!

Thankfully, these parents got a second opinion on their son that ended up saving his life.

Rowan’s new donors saw a lot of viable intestinal activity, meaning that he would be able to make it through his condition with a little help from the doctors. After four days at his new hospital, Rowan had surgery to correct his problems. After over 200 days in recovery,

Rowan was then able to return home with his parents for the first time since he had been born. You can learn more about Rowan in the video below. What do you think about this miracle story?
