Baby Cuddles Up With Goldendoodle During His Nap

Dogs have been incredible partners for their humans over the years. They're loyal, funny, hardworking, and very giving. They also just love human contact. It's not uncommon for dogs to have a kind of self-petting move. They'll find an outstretched hand and walk right under it. Maybe partly that's because they just love to be petted. Or maybe they're trying to remind their humans to come and play for a moment or two.

One of the best things about a family dog can be the way they interact with children. Samson the Goldendoodle's friendship with his littlest human, Theo, is a great example of this.

Basically Brothers

Samson the Goldendoodle lives with his humans in the town of Westport, Connecticut. He's a happy, silly, lovable dog and he's found a sizable following on social media. That's where one day, his mom decided to share a short video of him with her baby boy, Theo.

Theo's a human. Just six months old at the time, he was very little and needed lots of nap time during the day. But he loved to snuggle with his Goldendoodle friend, Samson.

In the video, Samson and Theo are snuggled up close together. Theo is snoozing and making sweet little noises. Samson patiently adjusts to Theo's every move. He's practically cradling him like any big brother would a baby.

Now, it's always important to supervise dogs when they're left alone with babies. But when Theo's mom did that, she found Samson taking care of her baby in almost the same way she would.

More Similar Than Different

On the surface, Theo and Samson are very different. But in many ways, the baby and the dog share a lot in common. In fact, Jessica, their mom says that Theo must think that he's a dog, too.

It's very sweet to see the way that Samson is caring for and training his baby brother. He's mentoring and looking after him like any older brother would. That's a very special way for young Theo to grow up, and very heartwarming for those of us watching!
