Just a month previous, Theo's mom, Lois Bennett, noticed her son's eyes were cloudy. He didn't seem to be able to see as clearly as he should. A few visits to the doctors found that Theo had a rare condition called congenital cataracts. It affects around 3 children out of every 10,000 reports Inside Edition.

The standard treatment for this condition is a lens replacement. And that's what Theo underwent. The doctors at Leeds General Infirmary performed the surgery on both of his eyes. They took out his cataracts and replaced his natural lenses with artificial ones reports The Daily Mail.

Two weeks after surgery, this little boy got a new pair of glasses. And the world became instantly clear.

Theo has been overjoyed since he got his new glasses. He was sitting on his mom's lap, and just beaming at everything around him. Then, he recognized his dad for the first time. Little Theo was over the moon.

They took him outside that same afternoon, and he was looking at everything. That was a marked change from before surgery. He hadn't done that before. But, the world is clear now, and Theo has a lot to take in.

"When he put the glasses on, he looked at me with a big smile and you could see him looking around," dad Joe Bennett, 37, told news agency SWNS in Inside Edition. "It melts your heart because you think to yourself, 'He can actually see now.'"

That video was taken last year. These days, almost 12 months after surgery, Theo is doing great. His doctors hope that, as his vision fully develops, he will only need glasses when he reads.
