In cooperation with Oprah Winfrey, former working royals Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have embarked on a docuseries project for mental health awareness. The show, "The Me You Can't See," is executive produced by Oprah and Harry and features the two discussing emotional well-being and mental health with a number of celebrity guests, including Lady Gaga, Glenn Close, and NBA players DeMar DeRozan and Langston Galloway. The show will also feature Oprah and Harry opening up about their own experiences with mental health. Focusing on making sure viewers know they are not alone in the struggle that sometimes happens with mental health, the show's goal is to challenge stigmas and provide insights into how viewers can start the path to treatment.

The series is debuting not long after Meghan and Harry's tell-all interview with Oprah, but the topic of mental health is one near and dear to Harry's heart. Harry's mother, the late Princess Diana, was known for her outspokenness regarding mental health and beloved by the public for her candid and honest conversations about mental well-being.

Now, the trailer for the series has been released on May 17, 2021, and it turns out Harry is not the only member of the royal family featured in the trailer. As a surprise, baby Archie Harrison is also featured in the trailer along with Meghan Markle, in a rare glimpse of the growing toddler.

Read on to learn more about how Harry is continuing his mother's legacy, when the series will be released and Archie's surprise appearance in the series' trailer.

"The Me You Can't See" is a docuseries produced by Oprah Winfrey and Prince Harry. According to Harper's Bazaar, the show was created in partnership with over a dozen mental health professionals ranging in different specialties as an advisory board for the docuseries. The show will also feature candid discussions with celebrities such as Lady Gaga and Glen Close, among others, as they talk about mental health. On May 17, 2021, the trailer for the show was released, and it even features some personal footage of Prince Harry. The footage includes Prince Harry at his mother's funeral as a boy, along with clips of Meghan Markle with their little son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. The glimpse at Meghan and Harry's firstborn son in the trailer was a surprise appearance.

The move for Prince Harry to produce a mental health docuseries is quite in line with his mother, Princess Diana's legacy. Remembered as the people's princess, Diana changed the public conversation around mental health by speaking about it openly despite her status as a member of the royal family and the taboo surrounding mental health. According to Time, Diana spoke openly about her struggle with bulimia and mental health. In a 1995 interview with the BBC, Diana opened up about her bulimia, as she said:

"I had bulimia for a number of years. And that's like a secret disease. You inflict it upon yourself because your self-esteem is at a low ebb, and you don't think you're worthy or valuable...It's like having a pair of arms around you, but it's temporarily, temporary...And it's a repetitive pattern which is very destructive to yourself."

Ever since his mother's passing, Harry has taken on her legacy of mental health awareness, and the docuseries is just another step in the same direction. According to Harper's Bazaar, Oprah Winfrey said about the show in a statement:

"Now more than ever, there is an immediate need to replace the shame surrounding mental health with wisdom, compassion, and honesty. Our series aims to spark that global conversation."

Harry also elaborated on the global approach to mental health awareness:

"We are born into different lives, brought up in different environments, and as a result are exposed to different experiences. But our shared experience is that we are all human. The majority of us carry some form of unresolved trauma, loss, or grief, which feels—and is—very personal. Yet the last year has shown us that we are all in this together, and my hope is that this series will show there is power in vulnerability, connection in empathy, and strength in honesty."

The clip of Meghan Markle and Archie in the trailer also goes to show just how personal and at-home the topic is for Harry. The sight of the toddler was certainly a surprise, as the family has opted for a more private life in Montecito, California, after moving from Canada, as they left the UK after Megxit. The teaser might suggest that fans will get more glimpses of Archie throughout the series, as Harry speaks candidly about mental health.

The series is set to premiere on May 21, 2021, on Apple TV+, and it will only be available to stream on the platform, which requires a subscription.
