A child born with hearing loss recently heard his mother's voice for the first time, and his reaction is astounding.

When Alex Denman was born, he was diagnosed with Bilateral Moderate Sensorineural hearing loss. While the diagnosis sounded intimidating, what it basically meant was that Alex was nearly deaf from the moment he was born. For five months after his birth, he wasn't able to hear the wind whistling or birds chirping. When his parents prepared to help fit him with his first hearing aids, they were apprehensive.

Strange sounds could easily become overwhelming to the little boy. But the parents also knew this was the start of their son's life. They weren't prepared for the heartwarming reaction he'd have to hear his mother's voice.

The technicians turned on the hearing aid, keeping the volume set to low to make sure they didn't startle him. Everyone kept a cautious eye on him as he looked around the room. But a small grin then stretched across Alex's face. Alex's mother talked to him, cooing softly, and the small grin turned into a huge smile that brightened the entire room. This sweet boy was unbelievably excited to hear both of his parents.

What do you think? Can you feel the joy? Then do pass it along to your friends and family and bring a smile to their faces.
