When Maddie Morley was 16-years-old, she wanted to attend prom like any other girl her age. There is something magical about this iconic high school dance. Classmates come together with dates and spend a night dancing, talking, and drinking punch.

Girls get to dress up in fancy dresses, while young men are draped in handsome suits. There is usually a fun theme for the entire night. This dance is something people remember for the rest of their lives.

Despite the excitement and grandeur surrounding this event, there is also a feeling of awkwardness and dread for some people. The pressure of getting the right date and finding the perfect outfit can be daunting. While boys usually have the pressure to ask their classmates out to prom, the girls have to wait patiently to be asked.

As the school year approached its final weeks, Maddie was still awaiting a request for prom. She hadn't been asked by anyone yet. However, this situation was about to change for the better.

Proms wasn't necessarily designed for children with special needs, and Maddie has autism. The Capital Christian Center decided to create a prom specifically for children with special needs. The prom was called the Evening of Dreams.

Now, Maddie just needed a date for the event of a lifetime.

During a regular school assembly, the speaker called Maddie onto the stage. She didn't have any idea what was about to happen. However, the following incident would make Maddie a very happy person.

The crowd was cheering as Maddie approached the stage. It's easy to imagine that she was nervous and excited at the same time. Kooper Richardson, one of the most popular seniors on the football team, was waiting patiently behind the curtain on the stage to surprise Maddie.

Kooper was a well-known student at Folsom High School. He decided to ask Maddie to the Evening of Dreams prom. Kooper even skipped a class trip to attend the prom with his date.

Every year, the senior class at the high school goes to Disney World to commemorate the end of the year. Kooper decided that taking Maddie to prom would be worth missing this trip entirely. The excitement and joy on Maddie's face were readily apparent when Kooper stepped out from behind the curtain.
