Authorities Remove 100 Malnourished Dogs From House After Ammonia Stench Bothers Neighbors

Of all the crimes that people commit, it never ceases to shock us all that there are people out there sick enough to commit crimes against animals. These completely defenseless creates are so sweet and loyal. All they want in the world is to be loved by their respective humans and treated with kindness (and maybe a treat here and there!).

Dogs especially are the kindest and sweetest creatures. That’s why it is so unfathomable that someone could abuse a dog, let alone 100 or more dogs like the owners of a home in Ross Township, Pennsylvania did.

Animal control employees of Ross Township, Pennsylvania recently came upon a scene that was unlike anything they had ever seen. When they walked up to the home and smelled the reeking scent of ammonia the moment they stepped out of the car, they knew that they had their work cut out for them.

There were officers from a group called Animal Friends on the scene as well that arrived after multiple sets of neighbors had continually complained about the extremely horrid conditions of the home. The officers from animal friends would end up removing more than 100 dogs from the ammonia-soaked house by the end of the day reports CBS.

As the process of removing the dogs moved forward, Brian Kohlepp, a police detective in Ross Township, shared with CBS that the ammonia levels within the house were so ridiculously high that it wasn’t even safe for humans to be in the house, let alone all those dogs.

His officers had to utilize self-contained air tanks and special breathing systems just so they could go in the house and breathe safely. They had to roll the tanks in behind them as they worked to rescue the dogs.

Damian Miller lives next door to the horrific ammonia house. He called and called about the ammonia smell that was so strong he couldn’t even use the pool in his own backyard. He was told by Animal Friends that he may as well quit calling. All Mr. Miller was ever told by township officials was, “we’ll look into it.”

For all you pet lovers, don’t worry! Animal Friends rescues all the pups and they will all be put up for adoption after they get thoroughly checked out and treated. The homeowner will face animal cruelty charges.

Although this story is utterly horrible, at least it has a happy ending! Pass this story along to anyone you know who could use to hear an animal story with a truly happy ending!
