Australian Man Uses Jet Ski To Travel Down Flooded Road For Fast Food

A guy in Australia was filmed riding his jet ski down a main road after a flash flood. His goal was to reach a McDonald's restaurant. Some people were enjoying the sight of someone taking on extremely wet conditions to go and get some fast food. Others couldn't believe someone actually wanted McDonald's food so badly they were willing to take such extreme measures to get some.

Australia has been experiencing devastating bushfires for months. Heavy rains had been falling in the country during the previous couple of days. This rain put out approximately a third of the fires burning in the Australian province of New South Wales, reports EcoWatch.

There are some areas in the province where the torrential rain resulted in flash flooding. The drought conditions occurred before the rains. This caused the soil to be compact and dry. It resulted in less rainfall being absorbed by the soil and causing flash flooding.

The Central Coast town of Tuggerah has been badly affected by the floods. According to The Guardian, many of the roads have become unusable. The video of the man traveling down the road on his jet ski shows him doing a 360 turn. This sprays water all through the air. The man is then seen having a good laugh about what he has just done. The opinions of people who saw him do this was divided.

One person expressed how he would be really angry if the wake from a jet ski shot water into his house, business, or car. Another person called the jet ski rider a real jerk. Some other reactions were positive toward him. A person said the jet ski rider was an absolute icon. Another positive comment claimed what the jet ski rider did was amazing.

One person who had a negative view of the man riding his jet ski on a flooded road was David Elliot. He is the minister of New South Wales Emergency Services. According to 9 News, he referred to what the jet skier did as "boofhead behavior." Mr. Elliot was upset because he felt the community was not taking the safety warnings issued to the public seriously.

The jet skier took everyone by surprise, but according to Mr. Elliot, it won't be tolerated in the future as far as the local law enforcement is concerned. Mr. Elliot appealed to the Tuggerah community to be aware of the fact that the town's rivers and drains, as well as other types of infrastructure, could be challenged during this time of flooding. The ocean's king tides appear to be making the situation even worse.
