School Spirit Week is one of the most freeing events on the entire academic calendar. With unbelievable hairdos and zany outfits, it’s truly a revitalizing time of the year. Still, the enthusiasm has a tendency to ring hollow if administrators aren’t completely on board as full-fledged participants.

Luckily, Lake Mary High School doesn’t have this problem in the slightest; in fact, even their principal was part of the raucous celebrations. Here’s what Dr. Mickey Reynolds did to make the Seminole County pep rally more memorable than any gymnasium gathering that came before it.

Now This is a Principal Who Knows How to Earn Extra Credit

Florida is already known for taking their energetic vibe to the max, so it took something really special to drive this crowd of students wild. Considering the academic environment, the major reaction here can be classified as a huge achievement.

The cheer crew that comprises this institution’s Unity Revolution STEP team shows in the video their flair for bombastic performances, but no one ever expected Dr. Reynolds to throw down some moves of her own. After meeting with the captain in advance, that’s exactly what happened, and the exuberant routine cemented her legacy as an infamous party queen once and for all, reports News 6.

A Long and Storied Educational Background

Reynolds is a well-known mainstay at the school, and she was even a member of the dance squad before graduating back in 1986. Her association with the academy goes back even farther than that, especially since her dad was the very first principal in their history, News 6 continues. In a sense, she is just honoring her lineage by following in her father’s footsteps; however, the footwork she put on display far outpaced any staff member in the facility’s past.

How Everything Came Together Perfectly

Kelly Lupis is the girl in charge of putting these shows together, and she was beyond thrilled that the principal approached her with such an amazing idea. Originally, Reynolds was just slated for a cameo. Of course, this approach completely changed after the first rehearsal revealed that she possessed some serious moves.

Instead of simply making an appearance, she became an active participant in the entire vivacious charade. Even Reynolds wasn’t expecting to go all out like this, but everyone is super happy that she did. As she told ABC News afterward, “I wasn’t thinking they’d have me doing half the darn routine."

Even the Parents Loved It

Once it became clear that the principal wasn’t holding back anything, the attendees started to go absolutely crazy. The students exploded with applause, and even the parents in the audience were clearly impressed. Becky Godwin was one fortunate mother who saw the rendition in person, and she described the magic moment wonderfully: “When she walked out onto the floor, you could literally feel the oxygen leave the room. It was just the most amazing decibel of noise I’ve ever heard, and I’ve been to every pep rally.”

The Local Sensation Goes Viral

Stepping is an iconic form of rhythmic movement that first originated as part of initiation ceremonies among Black Greek Lettered Organizations. Over time, their unique style of motion entered the mainstream and evolved into the glory we see here. These moves were just too good not to post online, and the video quickly amassed millions of views after being uploaded to Facebook and YouTube. On both pages, the comments are filled with unrestrained praise: “This is how to show an entire school love.”

To keep this legendary act rolling, everyone should watch and send the uproarious clip to their friends and family to get them in on the excitement. What do you think of this show of school spirit by a principal, no less? Offer up your comments in the section below!
