One of Victoria Principal’s most high-profile relationships was with the late Bee Gees member Andy Gibb. While their romantic relationship only lasted for about a year, the former’s love for the late actor still lives on.

Principal was born on Jan. 3, 1950, in Fukuoka, Japan. She is the eldest daughter of United States Air Force Sergeant Victor Rocco Principal. Her mother was Georgia native Ree Veal. Principal's family was stationed in Japan at the time of her birth, and she lived there for her first three months of life.

She moved around often in childhood due to her father's military career and was raised in London, Puerto Rico, Florida, Massachusetts, and Georgia, among other places.

Principal also attended 17 different schools, including the Royal Ballet School in England. Since the age of 5, Principal appeared in television commercials, which is when her love for acting first began.

Principal graduated from South Dade Senior High School in 1968 and then enrolled at Miami–Dade Community College, where she intended to study medicine.

Unfortunately, she was hit by a drunk driver near the end of her first year of college and had to stay in the hospital for an extended period of time. Because of this, she was faced with the prospect of having to redo her first year of studies upon returning.

Instead of continuing her career path in the medical field, Principal instead decided to pursue a career in acting. She moved to New York at first but then decided to go to London, where she studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art

In 1971, she moved to Los Angeles to further her acting career. She began to star in Western films, including "The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean" opposite Paul Newman

Principal is best known for her role as Pamela Barnes Ewing on the primetime television soap opera "Dallas."

"Dallas" was a primetime soap opera series on CBS that began airing in 1978. Principal worked as a talent agent in Hollywood at the time, and when she came across the script for a new show that was being cast, she knew she was perfect for the role of Pamela.

Principal enjoyed her nine years on "Dallas," despite not having a close relationship with her castmates.

The actress has been married and divorced twice and never had children. The actress has been married and divorced twice and never had children. She may be living on a ranch on her own, but there’s no doubt she’s happy and content.

But perhaps one of her most known relationships was with Andy Gibb. They met on the show “The John Davidson Show.” In 1981, Principal appeared in the song “All I Have To Do Is Dream.”

Principal and Gibb entered into a relationship for about a year between 1981 and 1982. Gibb was simply head over heels in love with Principal. But PEOPLE described Principal’s relationship with Gibb as being a “volatile” one.

Gibb’s addiction to drugs eventually led to their breakup, leaving Gibb "devastated." Principal, though, made sure to be there for Gibb to help him overcome his battle with drug addiction. But when she could no longer take it, she asked Gibb to choose between her and drugs. Gibb chose the latter.

“Our breakup was preceded and precipitated by Andy’s use of drugs,” Principal said. “I did everything I could to help him. But then I told him he would have to choose between me and his problem.”

In an interview on “Good Morning America,” Gibb said he no longer cared about life following his breakup with Principal.

“I thought so much of the girl. When we broke up I gave up everything,” Gibb said. “I didn’t care about life.”

Gibb passed away in March 1988 after he suffered from myocarditis, or the inflammation of the heart muscle, which was most likely caused by a virus.

In 2022, a biography exploring Gibb’s insecurities, struggles with fame and cocaine addiction, which resulted in his death, came out. It was called “Arrow Through The Heart: A Biography Of Andy Gibb.”

While Gibb caught himself in a terrible state of depression following his breakup with Principal, the author of his biography, Matthew Hild, said it all started even before his relationship with the latter.

"Andy was beloved and yet it all went terribly wrong," Hild said. "But the seeds of that were planted long before, when still in his teens, he was thrust onto the world stage."

Despite their relationship coming to an end, Principal’s love never faded away, and it remains even years after his death. In fact, she still remembers him up to this day.

In March 2023, Principal shared an Instagram post of red roses lying on the beach with the initials "AG" written on the sand. While she simply captioned her post with a heart and a red rose, fans believed she did it in honor of Gibb.

“You two had a special love and I’m sure he’s still by your side. What a wonderful way to remember him. He was such a handsome man,” one person wrote.

“May his memory always be a blessing,” another person said.
