According to a statement from his family, Randall's grueling journey with the debilitating disease was kept private as it was his request.

Bullock has been a working actress in the entertainment industry since the late 1980s and has also worked as a producer during her impressive and long-lasting career. She is an eclectic actress and doesn't fit into just one genre since her talents are unique and diverse. From suspenseful thrillers to romantic comedies, Bullock has starred in a wide variety of films and television shows. Some of her most notable films include "Miss Congeniality," "The Lake House" and "Bird Box."

Although she had plenty of on-screen partners, Bullock remained in love with Randall for many years. Bullock's relationship with former model Randall was quite the love story, as the actress has given insight into their romance in the last couple of years. After a messy divorce with Jesse James that ended in 2010, Bullock met Randall when she hired him to take photos of Louis' 5th birthday back in 2015. Their relationship blossomed, and he became her boyfriend. Nowadays, he's a wonderful father figure to her two kids.

Aside from being a great father figure to her kids, Randall also proved to be a very loving and protective husband as he fended off the paparazzi and detractors of his wife as they put her in uncomfortable situations. Bullock has spoken fondly of her husband and their relationship on multiple occasions, as their partnership meant so much more even though they're not legally married.

During Bullock's appearance on "Red Table Talk," the actress gushed about her relationship and the family she and Randall have together. She said:

"I found the love of my life. We share two beautiful children — three children, his older daughter. It's the best thing ever. I don't wanna say do it like I do it, but I don't need a paper to be a devoted partner and devoted mother."

Speaking more about Randall, Bullock had this to say about her partner: "I don't need to be told to be ever present in the hardest of times. I don't need to be told to weather a storm with a good man." She further gushed about her partner, "He's the example that I would want my children to have... I don't always agree with him, and he doesn't always agree with me. But he is an example even when I don't agree with him."

At 59, Bullock has faced comments about her aging face and body. People have heavily criticized her online about this, which she later admitted to being affected by.

Despite these comments, Randall, her partner of eight years, had been protective of her against detractors and even the paparazzi. While going to dinner with his parents and Bullock in Hollywood, Randall gave his utmost patience as the actress looked very uncomfortable being snapped by paparazzi. He even hugged Bullock affectionately as he blocked the photographer's view, even comforting her as she tried to have a normal night without any distractions.

Sadly, Randall passed away on Aug. 5, 2023, after a long battle with ALS or Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, as reported by People.

In a statement given to People Magazine from Randall's family, it was revealed that he passed away after his three-year battle with the disease.

"Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private and those of us who cared for him did our best to honor his request," the statement read. "We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours."

Randall's family has since asked for privacy to grieve and come to terms with the impossible task of saying goodbye to him.

According to the National Health Institute, ALS is a rare neurological disease that affects motor neurons. As these neurons degenerate and die, they fail to transmit messages to the muscles, which causes them to weaken, start to twitch and waste away. To date, the illness has no cure and no effective treatment to reverse its progression.

According to the ALS Association, the average life expectancy of a person living with ALS is about five years from the diagnosis, while some people can live with the disease for over five years.

Randall is survived by Bullock, his longtime partner of eight years, and her son Louis, 13, and Laila, 10, who have treated him as a father figure for years. As of the time of writing, Bullock has not yet released a statement on her partner's saddening death.

According to People Magazine, Randall's family asked for donations to be made to the ALS Association and the Massachusetts General Hospital in lieu of flowers.
