Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Son Christopher Looks Unrecognizable At Family Event After Extreme Weight Loss

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s youngest son, Christopher Schwarzenegger, captured public attention with his remarkable physical transformation. The 27-year-old was spotted during a family outing in Malibu, California, with a noticeably slimmer physique, reflecting years of dedication to health and fitness.

Arnold has never shied away from showing pride for his sons, especially given his turbulent relationship with his father. The bodybuilding legend had a strained relationship with his father. Despite his rough upbringing, Arnold seemed to have built a picture-perfect family later in life. He became a member of the prestigious Kennedy family when he married Maria Shriver, daughter of Eunice Shriver and her husband, R. Sargent Shriver. The power couple have four children together.

But things were not as they seemed. In 2011, it became public that Arnold had fathered a child with the family’s maid, Mildred Patricia Baena, in 1997 while he was married to Maria. Maria filed for divorce, and the divorce was finally settled in 2021.

Sadly, people have continued to bash members of the Schwarzenegger household, with many targeting his son Christopher by calling him fat. This all changed when the bodybuilder’s son showed off his tremendous weight-loss transformation. Christopher was born on Sept. 27, 1997. He has lived a relatively private life, compared to his other family members. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 2020 in an online ceremony due to the pandemic. However, that didn’t stop Arnold from sharing how proud he was of his son. 

The actor gushed over his son’s achievement, sharing a photo of Christopher before his extreme weight loss on Instagram with the caption:

“Christopher, you are a champion and I love you. I know your graduation from Michigan wasn’t the big celebration you dreamed about for years, but walking across a stage isn’t what makes me so proud of you: it’s your compassion, your hard work, your vision, your critical thinking, and your selflessness that make me burst with pride. I can’t wait to watch you keep climbing and succeeding.”

According to sources, Christopher has been gradually losing weight since committing to a healthier lifestyle in 2020. This explained the significant change in his appearance in the last few years. An insider revealed that Christopher’s commitment to his weight loss journey contributed to the change. They said:

“He made it his goal to get healthy for graduation and he stuck to it.”

A source also added that Christopher began working on his diet and fitness, living a healthier lifestyle after finishing college. 

“He started working out and making better food choices. He was away at school living like a typical college kid for a few years, but he’s growing up now and ready to take better care of himself.”

His legendary actor and bodybuilder father, Arnold, also acknowledged his son’s efforts to lose weight. The “Terminator” actor lauded his youngest son with compliments and admiration for his lifestyle change. Arnold also marveled at his son’s busy fitness schedule, a grand compliment from the former bodybuilder. He took to Instagram on Christopher’s birthday, writing:

“Between your boxing classes, your weightlifting classes, your stretching classes, your cycling classes, and on and on, I can’t even keep up with you!”

His brother, the handsome actor Patrick Schwarzenegger, also extended similar praises and well wishes on Christopher’s birthday.

“Proud of you. New job. Crushing in the gym. Whole new person. Can’t wait to see what this year brings,” Patrick wrote in a since-deleted social media post.

Christopher, rarely seen in public, was among the many guests who attended his elder brother Patrick’s 29th birthday party in September 2022. The star-studded event celebrating the actor’s birthday was made all the more merry by the presence of his youngest brother. Dressed in a grey shirt and navy blue pants, Christopher appeared relaxed as he joined his siblings for the gathering.​

Fast-forward to April 2025, where Christopher joined his siblings for a family Easter outing at a restaurant in West Hollywood, turning heads with his fit and toned look. This time, he opted for a blue shirt, light chinos and white sneakers. His sister, the author Katherine Schwarzenegger, also posted a sweet tribute to her siblings to commemorate National Siblings Day. Fans couldn’t help marveling at Christopher’s dramatic weight loss.  

Christopher is the youngest son of Schwarzenegger and his ex-wife Maria, and unlike his famous siblings, he has largely stayed out of the public eye. Instead, he serves as Vice Chair of the Special Olympics Founder’s Council. The internet can’t seem to get enough of Christopher, as he also garnered media attention while on the red carpet for the premiere of season three of his brother Patrick’s show, “The White Lotus.” While many enjoyed the festivities, netizens went wild over Christopher’s shocking weight-loss transformation.

Despite the former criticism of Christopher’s body and the praise he is getting now, his family has always stood by him. Arnold and Patrick appeared to be extremely proud of Christopher for all his accomplishments, and we’re excited to see what the future holds for him and his family!
