Armadillo Found Chillin' In A Pool And In No Particular Hurry To Leave

It is not uncommon to see an armadillo or two if you are in East Texas. And many times, these armadillos will travel close to homes and are unafraid of humans. But not many people can say they have witnessed an armadillo enjoying the sun and chilling in their backyard swimming pool.

Tammy Anderson lives in Nacogdoches, Texas. She traveled a short distance to check out the home of her vacationing sister-in-law. This is when she found an unexpected guest enjoying the family pool.

She approached cautiously and identified the visitor as an armadillo. The animal was resting on a float and apparently enjoying a relaxing afternoon.

Tammy was disbelieving at what her eyes showed her so she called her mother to the backyard. She too was caught off guard by the armadillo.

The two women decided they would help him find his way out of the pool since the armadillo had no apparent plans of leaving.

Tammy's mother recorded the moment with her phone and could be heard saying the armadillo is 'just chillin'.

Tammy's sister in law, Kristy, shared the video to Facebook once she was home from her vacation. She said her sister and mother in law were the greatest for providing her with the video. She also joked that her sister in law is the family member responsible for handling uninvited guests.

Dolly is the family dog and was present in the backyard when the armadillo crashed entered the swimming pool. She was a bit curious about the unexpected visitor and even barked at the animal a time or two. However, Dolly did not attempt to bother the animal.

Kristy says the armadillo may be welcomed for another visit if it gets hot and he needs to cool off in their pool. She said but this time he would have to figure out how to free himself from the pool on his own.

Before ending the conversation, she said the thing that has puzzled her and her family the most is how the armadillo was able to get on top of the float in the first place.
