Recently a mother in Arizona told the police in a Target parking lot that she “forgot” her five-month-old baby inside a sweltering vehicle while she went shopping.

Stacey Holly, the mother of the infant, stated that when she left the car, she was on the phone. She left the automobile with the baby still strapped into the car seat as she went into the store in Goodyear, Arizona.

Holly was captured on a police video telling officers that she shopped for almost an hour at the local department store before she realized that she’d left her small child strapped into the car seat in the hot car in the parking lot.

According to CBS This Morning the outdoor temperature reached a high of 100 degrees Fahrenheit while the baby was in the car seat, inside car temperatures can soar to 134 degrees within 30 minutes.

The 37-year-old called the police when she realized she returned to the car and realized she had forgotten her child. In bodycam footage obtained by 12 News Holly can be heard telling the police officer: "I honestly don't know how it happened. I'm freaking out. I'm sorry. I just don't know how it happened, how do you forget your baby?"

The police took Holly in for questioning after the mother apologized for forgetting her baby inside the car. She also claimed that she wasn’t a neglectful mother. Holly’s sister was with her during the incident. The aunt explained that they forgot they had the child with them.

The small bawling child was rushed to a neighboring hospital with a red face and sweaty body, and the infant did survive the ordeal. One of the police officers can be heard saying on the bodycam footage, "'I can't believe the kid survived that long, you got lucky on this one, man. Thirty minutes without it running. It's a long time. It's a little, little baby." Holly was arrested and faces charges due to the incident.
