Archie's Christening Portrait Alongside Prince Harry And Princess Diana's Photo Is Near Identical

On Saturday, royal members gathered to celebrate Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s first child, Archie’s christening. However, one can’t help but notice the similarities in the christening portraits from this past weekend to those from 34 years earlier.

The streets were packed as royals supporters and fans crowded around the gates of Windsor Castle to see if they could catch a glimpse of Archie. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex opted for a private baptism meaning it was closed to the press and public. However, the couple released pictures to the public after the event took place.

The beautiful portraits shot by photographer Chris Allerton show Archie in a handmade copy of the royal christening gown which has been worn by royal infants for the past 11 years. However, we couldn’t help but notice how similar Archie looks sitting on Meghan’s lap as Prince Harry did 34 years ago in 1984 while placed on his mother’s lap, the late Princess Diana.

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree as both the babies have the same puffy cheeks and are imitating the same kind of pose, it also helps that the two are wearing near identical christening gowns.

Sisters to Princess Diana, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, and Lady Jane Fellowes also attended the baptism and were pictured right above Archie in the portraits. It was a loving tribute to Harry’s mother Diana who probably would’ve loved to see her new baby grandson. The other family members in the portrait are Archie’s aunt and uncle, The Duke, and Duchess of Cambridge (Kate Middleton and Prince William), the new grandpa to Archie, Prince Charles, and his wife Camila, and the new grandma Doria Ragland, Meghan’s mother.
