Archie Cheers On Dad Prince Harry During Family Outing With Cambridge Kids

Now that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are no longer working royals, they are enjoying a different kind of life in sunny California with their two children: Archie Mounbatten-Winsdor and Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor. It seems that California life offers a particular sort of freedom that Harry didn't get in the royal family. There are several examples of this, including the couple's decision to send Archie to a nursery that teaches more than just traditional skills.
Meghan and Harry are indeed living the California dream in Montecito with their children. Archie is an adorable tiny tot, and in the few photos that have so far been made available to the public, some royal fans are claiming that the little guy bears a striking resemblance to his dad – as a baby, that is.
Since Archie was born in the spring of 2019, his parents have been careful about keeping him away from the public eye as much as possible. While new mothers in Buckingham Palace generally give the public a glimpse of a newborn royal at the Lindo Wing steps at St. Mary's Hospital the day they are born, Archie's parents went against royal protocol and did not invite the press for a photo op.
However, the world has seen more of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s family over the years. They even released a stunning photograph of young Lilibet! But in 2019, Archie received plenty of attention while out on a fun playdate with the Cambridge family as he watched Harry play polo against his older brother, Prince William.

On the day of Archie's birth, his father, Harry, addressed the public, announcing that his wife had given birth to a "very healthy baby boy," assuring everyone that both baby and mother were well and resting.
Just two days later, the young family made their first outing as a unit, with the newborn making his debut as the newest member of the royal family. That same day, Harry and Meghan formally announced their son's name – Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
Unlike his cousins, the three children of William and Kate Middleton, Archie does not hold a royal title. Because of a letters patent — a legal order of the monarch — from 1917, only certain people may have the title of "prince," and Archie sadly does not qualify.
While the happy parents were given the option to choose the subsidiary honorary title of Earl of Dumbarton for their son, they decided not to, according to Time Magazine. Harry and Meghan decided they wanted a more private life for little Archie.
For a boy with only three years under his belt, Archie has certainly moved around the world. Having been born in London, Archie moved with his parents to Vancouver Island for several months before they moved back to Meghan's home in the state of California.
Then, after both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down as working members of the royal family, the group moved to Los Angeles — a familiar place for the former actress — in March 2020. However, not satisfied with the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles life, Harry, Meghan, and Archie decided to settle in Montecito, Santa Barbara, for some more privacy.

However, in November 2021, Meghan opened up about her life during an interview with Ellen Degeneres. She also shared a never-before-seen photo of her then-2-year-old son tending to the family’s chickens. The picture showed Archie holding a basket – likely to collect eggs – as he looked down at his family’s flock of chickens.
With his fiery red hair, the tiny tot looked incredibly similar to Harry! However, the young boy seemed to have a style of his own. In the photo, Archie was sporting some adorable yellow Wellington boots that featured Peppa Pig, jeans and a blue sweater.
Now, little Archie is off to visit a nursery school in his Californian hometown. In January 2022, The Mirror reported that Archie would be visiting a nursery school in Montecito. The school offers more than the traditional kinds of teachings, although they are still represented. While the school provides subjects like reading, writing and numbers, it also focuses on teaching “emotional literacy” and mindfulness, reflecting an emphasis on mental health and social skills.
The Mirror spoke with a parent of one of the other children visiting the nursery. Unsurprisingly, little Archie seems to garner a lot less attention than he would get if he were to see an English nursery school:
"Harry often drops Archie off and picks him up, and seems like a good dad. All the parents have been laid back in welcoming Harry and Meghan, without making a fuss. And to the other kids, Archie is just one of them. They don't know his parents are royalty, and probably wouldn't care – unless Meghan was a Disney princess."

It was a royal family affair to support William and Harry at their polo match in July 2019. The Duchess of Sussex brought baby Archie to watch Harry play polo against his brother, William. Kate also attended with the Cambridge children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The outing was the first time the royal cousins had all been seen together in public and was just days after Archie’s christening.
The King Power Royal Charity Polo Day took place at the Billingbear Polo Club in Berkshire and the princes’ participation helped raise money for organizations which they support.
Rebecca English, a Royal Correspondent for the Daily Mail in London, wrote on Twitter that the organizations included a huge list of causes, including “African Parks, The English Schools Swimming Association, Fields in Trust, Henry van Straubenzee Memorial Fund, The Household Cavalry Operational Casualties Fund, The Invictus Games Foundation, Irish Guards Appeal, Map Action, Mountain Rescue England and Wales, The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, Rhino Conservation Botswana, The Royal Marsden, RFU Injured Players Foundation, The Passage, and the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust."
The outing also came just after People magazine published a series about how the Sussex parents were adjusting to parenthood. “Basking in the glow,” said a royal source, adding, “As most new parents are, they’re just so excited. There’s something new every day. They’re just really happy.”
The royal family announced that the two dukes were taking part in the King Power Royal Charity Polo Day for the Khun Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Memorial Polo Trophy to raise charitable funds, resulting in a huge sum of £1 million (or about $1.02 million) split among 15 causes.
