Any Time Lovable Blind Shelter Dog Hears Best Friend's Voice He Consistently Runs To Him

Arafa is a gorgeous shelter dog who happens to be blind. He was born that way and rescued by the Furever Rescue and Foster shelter in Cairo, Egypt, after being found on the street. Thanks to the care of the shelter and his best friend, volunteer Ahmed Embaby, Arafa is now a happy dog. In fact, he's so loved that whenever Ahmed calls for him, Arafa comes running towards him and doesn't leave his side.

The story of Arafa and Ahmed is a touching one, and one that will be familiar to dog lovers everywhere. After being rescued by the Furever Rescue Foster shelter, Arafa began to rehabilitate from his situation. And that was no doubt aided by his close friendship with Ahmed, his best friend. Whenever Ahmed arrives at the shelter, he calls out to Arafa, who instantly comes to his side and rarely leaves while he is there. Arafa may be blind, but Ahmed is his shining light through the darkness. Due to Ahmed and the Furever team's love and care, Arafa's mental and physical health has greatly improved.

Speaking with Apost, Ahmed described when he first met Arafa. Already a member of the Furever Rescue Foster team, Ahmed met Arafa when the pup was only three years old. He said: 

"He came to us blind just rescued from the street. Arafa was found near a butcher shop where the owner was feeding him, we were notified about Arafa and his case, the Furever team responded promptly to the call and rescued Arafa."

He goes on to say that even though he has three dogs at home, "It never ceases to amaze me the euphoria that Arafa shows just when he hears my voice. Pure unconditional love."

That's love alright. Ahmed and Arafa share a special bond that only those who are close with dogs will understand. It's even more heartwarming to know that since Arafa was a rescue and is blind, he's undoubtedly not had the easiest life. But just the sheer joy and love he gets from his friendship with Ahmed must bring him a lot of happiness and positivity.

Asked if he will keep Arafa or if the dog is up for adoption, Ahmed told Apost that Arafa never allowed anyone except Ahmed to get close to him, and so he sees the dog as "part of my family at home." He plans to bring Arafa home to live with him once he finds a bigger place for everyone.

What a true story of love and friendship. We're so happy to hear Ahmed will be going home with his best friend Arafa, and their positive way of looking out for one another will continue on.
