In the past, adopted children found themselves facing a tremendous challenge if they decided to meet their birth parents; however, thanks to the internet and DNA results, it’s becoming easier than ever before for adoptees to connect with their biological families. Jeff Snyder is one man who used technology to him help find the woman who gave him up for adoption over fifty-years ago.

Jeff Snyder of Tampa, Florida was a bit uncertain about submitting his DNA to Ancestry, convinced that he would probably come up with no matches at all. But, despite his uncertainties, he thought it might be worth a try.

For a while, it seemed like Jeff was probably right, that the test was simply an act of futility; however, after waiting two years, he finally heard back from a woman name Judy Newkirk.

Judy is Jeff’s biological mother who gave birth to him in 1967, held him in her arms for six hours, and then gave him up to his new family.

While Jeff had certainly wondered about his mother, he had never had a chance to connect with her until they met through the DNA test results.

Waiting to meet his mom at the airport, Jeff was obvious nervous and admitted to reporters that it felt a lot like a first date, complete with butterflies and uncertainties.

But when Jeff caught sight of his mom walking into the airport, all of his anxiety seemed to melt away as he walked toward her and called out to her.

Judy couldn’t stop crying as she hugged her son again and again, obviously unable to get enough of the closeness.

She explained that she was so excited to get to hold her son after fifty-one-years apart.

Jeff calls the entire reunion a success story and it certainly looks to be just that!

Mother and son seemed to hit it off immediately, and we are sure that they will continue to be an active part of each other’s lives.
