Angelina Jolie Jokingly Speaks To Being Single

Angelina Jolie is no stranger to the spotlight thanks to her former longtime relationship with Brad Pitt and the beautiful family they had together. Although the pair split in 2016 and officially separated in 2019, the actress has not given up on finding love. In fact, she’s been able to joke about her relatively new single lifestyle and has been relishing all the one-on-one moments of support she’s had with her children.

Jolie, 48, is most known for being an actress, filmmaker and humanitarian. She has received plenty of awards over the span of her career. She is one of Hollywood’s highest-paid actresses and is one of the most beautiful and influential people in the entertainment industry. Her relationships over the years have been a highly talked about topic in the media, but it’s her sheer and raw talent that has kept her in the industry for such a long time.

Jolie recently recounted her role as a mother just a day after Mother’s Day in May 2021, and expressed her gratitude for her children. She has six children with Pitt, three of whom were adopted internationally. Her children include Maddox, Zahara, Pax, Vivienne, Shiloh and Knox. The family has learned to lean on one another, as they have spent so much time together in the spotlight.

Although Jolie has had a couple years now to enjoy the single life, it’s the time she’s been able to spend with her family that has meant the most to her. She has continued to gush about her love and adoration for her children every chance she gets.

A source close to Jolie and Pitt told People Magazine in July 2020 how the two have been able to amicably co-parent the past few years. “It’s taken them a long time, with a lot of family therapy, to get to this point,” the source said. “The younger kids go back and forth between their houses, and Brad loves spending as much time with them as possible. He seems much happier.”

During an interview with E! News’ Daily Pop, Jolie talked about how lucky she is to be a mother and have the support of her many children. “I’m very fortunate I have six very capable children,” the star said. She gushed about how the tables have seemed to turn; instead of Jolie checking in on her kids, they now seem to be the ones checking in on her. 

“Of course you wake up and you just feel like, ‘I’ve got to make sure they’re OK. I’ve got to make sure they’re mentally OK,’ but honestly I think a few years ago it switched and they’re thinking, ‘I’ve got to make sure mom’s OK,’” Jolie joked.

The family has become an incredibly close-knit group full of nothing but love and support for one another. “We’re such a team so I am very, very lucky,” Jolie explained. “I’m always the one who worries, but I don’t worry about them. They’re cool people.”

Jolie is no stranger to the film industry and has recently landed a role in the 2021 HBO Max drama “Those Who Wish Me Dead,” where she plays a dedicated mother figure. “It is funny, I haven’t done action in about 10 years,” Jolie noted.

“Those Who Wish Me Dead” fits a few genres, centering mostly on drama, thriller and action, and follows a murder witness being chased down by two assassins — all the while trying to surive a growing forest fire.

Jolie’s co-star Medina Senghore joined the fun interview and talked about her own maternal instincts, recalling the first time she really felt her fierceness come out. “I remember it clearly, it was right after I’d given birth,” Senghore said. “My husband and I were crossing the street and this taxi driver honked at me because I guess I was moving too slow and I brought my fists down on the hood of the car and I scared everyone.” Jolie nodded, agreeing with her co-star’s actions. “It was pure animal,” Senghore added.

It’s an undeniable fact that Jolie is incredibly talented, beautiful and has always put her children first. With plenty of suitors surely at her doorstep, one might wonder why the star has decided to stay single. “I probably have a very long list (of ‘nos’),” Jolie joked, explaining how she has quite a lengthy list of mannerisms she doesn’t like in a partner. “I’ve been alone for a long time now,” she added.

Although Jolie is absolutely gorgeous, talented and kind-hearted, the star has kept her dating life pretty lowkey and has continued to stay single over the past couple of years. Spending time with her children and showcasing her beautiful motherly instincts seems to be at the top of her list of priorities for the time being.
